Additional Information on the Korematsu V United States case
Majority vote:
Basically Everyone agreed that it cannot be denied that in the given circumstances the military had the right to imprison people because of all opposing threats. Since this was dealt quickly and swiftly they can't deny that wasn't a chance to find true guilt in everyone. But the threat of there even being a guilty person, imprisoned basically everyone by a "Guilty By association" in this case the so called association was having Japanese in ones blood. They also cannot deny that the military had every right or proper grounds to makes these claims and follow out this actions to pursue them. Because of this un rightful internment seven thousand Japanese requested repatriation to Japan. Which meant to return to there place of origin a become once again Japanese citizens. To add to this high number five thousand people refused "Unqualified loyalty to America" As well as renouncing allegiance to the Japanese Emperor. The reason why so didn't want to agree to this was because they were stripped of their rights and put into internment camps.
Disenting opinion:
The dissenting opinion is that this internment went over the cliff of anything constitutional. In the process over going over the cliff it entered in blatant racism. It is understood that the military has complete knowledge of everything that has to do with war, what is right and what is wrong. But there should be a limit a line that absolutely cannot be crossed, though through this case was completely stepped over. Just because the military feels it's right doesn't mean that the Japanese citizens deserved to be stripped of their constitutional rights. There is absolutely no denying that there were some cases of Japanese disloyalty to americans to benefit Japan. But was a larger or equal amount of betrayal with italians, germans, and even americans. But just because some people are disloyal does not prove that everyone with associations is also therefore proved disloyal.
